Der lyrische Text des Autors Ulf Stolterfoht »cäsium 137« bezieht sich auf das radioaktive Isotop Cäsiums 137, das als Produkt der Kernspaltung in größeren Mengen in die Umwelt gelangt und dessen Wirkung in biologischen Kreisläufen über Jahrzehnte nachweisbar ist. Gerhild Ebel fertigte dazu Objekte und Grafiken nach histologischen Präparaten unter Verwendung von Fotografien kristallinen Cäsiums. Dabei bezieht sie wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse in ihre künstlerische Arbeit ein. Paradoxe Schönheit.

The lyrical text of the award-winning author Ulf Stolterfoht »cesium 137« refers to the radioactive isotope cesium 137, a product of nuclear fission released in large quantities
into the environment and whose effect is detectable for decades in biological cycles. Gerhild Ebel created graphics to accompany the poem using histological preparations
and photographs of crystalline cesium. She draws on scientific knowledge in her artistic work. Paradoxical beauty.
