»Es sind weiße, grundierte Leinwände, die auf nichts anderes gewartet zu haben scheinen, als genau diese Schüsse durch sich hindurch zu lassen, die wir hier allerdings nur noch erahnen können, deren Spuren jedoch nicht zu übersehen sind. Erst jetzt und erst so werden die Schüsse zu einem Bild. Die so sichtbare Gewalt verweist zum einen auf den Zustand unserer Welt, in der immer noch versucht wird, mit Gewalt Probleme zu lösen, auf der anderen Seite nimmt Gerhild Ebel hier eine Traditionslinie auf, die u.a. bei Tinguely begann und bei Fontana deutlicheren Ausdruck fand… Nicht nur, dass ich auch an das Firmament denken musste, macht sie auf ihre Weise schön.« Uwe Warnke zur Ausstellungseröffnung im der Galerie »Projektraum Alte Feuerwache«, Berlin 2006
»These are white-grounded canvases that seem to have been waiting for an opportunity to let these particular shots pass through them; shots we can only imagine, although their traces cannot be overlooked. Now, and in this way alone, the shots become an image.
